В такой ситуации, как у Вас, когда предки не жили с момента переселения постоянно в одной и той же колонии (если такой факт, действительно, подтвердится), надо обращаться в архив. Запросите, как я и писала сведения о рождении за 1900 год и все более ранние сведения о рождениях или браке. Если предки меняли место жительства, это обязательно всплывёт, заодно и правильное написание фамилии.
По поводу переписи 1798 года посмотрите по разделам, увидите заголовок. Я так сходу сказать не могу.

По колонии Гнатентау в Волгоградском архиве исеются метрические записи о рождении за 1860-1900 г.г., о смерти за 1860-1882 г.г. и о браке за 1876-1902 г.г.

Burial was in the Dorrance Cemetery. He was only 29 years of age and is survived by his wife and five-year-old daughter (Judy). In addition, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Steinle, of Bunker Hill, a brother, Leonard and his grandfather, David Steinle Jr., of Russell. Another brother, Harold, died two years ago of burns he suffered while burning weeds.

Mr. Steinle was preced in death of his wife, Julia Steinle in 1950. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Heinze, Wilson, Kan; Mrs. Mary Meier, Shattuck; Mrs. Julia Meier, Dorrance, Kans.; and Mrs. Katie Meier, Enid. Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Steinle came to Wilson, Ks., in 1899, and in 1902 homesteaded a farm 14 miles southwest of Shattuck. His survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, five sons and five daughters-in-law.

With her he lived in faithfulness and loving devotion until death parted them in February 1939. This marriage God blessed with ten children: David, Fred, Mary, Mollie, Alexander, Anna, Hannah, Emmanuel, Lydia, Elsie. A few years after their marriage the family decided to immigrate and on November 18, 1899, they set foot on American soil. He leaves to mourn his departure; his children: David of Mingo; Fred D. of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Ben Steinle of Wilson; Mrs. Roy W. Sprinkle of Salina; Mrs. Leonard Socha of Claflin; Mrs. Alex Bay of Russell; Mr. C. N. Ivan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Veleda of Colby; daughter, Rylinda and her husband Charles Barnett of Colby; 2 grandchildren: Kristy and her husband Michael Karnes of Colby and Brian Barnett of Bloomington, Indiana. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters, her husband, Paul, son LaDean, and one great-grandson. Survivors include a son, Lanny and wife Veronica of Norwich; daughter-in-law Judy Hower of Lucas; six grandchildren: Cindy Brozek, Monty Hower, Kristy Huehl, Cody Hower, Jamie Hower and Ryan Hower; seven great-grandchildren; Gallo Brozek, Levi Brozek, Kerrick Kuder, Kyle Rahmeier, Coby Hower, Colton Hower, and Kristal Huehl; numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Special music was provided by Rodney Ammons accompanied by Bonnie Langdon. Interment was in the Lucas Cemetery. Daughter of the late Gottfried and Mary Steinle. She was united in marriage to Gottfried MEIER In Russia in 1888. They moved to the U.S. in 1892, settling in the community of Lehigh, Kansas. Seven children were born to this union, 2 sons and 5 daughters. Her husband, two sons, Gottfried and Dave, and one daughter, Mary Miller, preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Leah Jergenson, Lydia Keller, Elsie Meier of Shattuck, and Emma Meier of Supply; one brother, Gottfried Steinle of Higgins, Texas. Additional information - Correction should be made to show "Mrs. Mary Steinle Meier, daughter of Gottfried and Katherina Elizabeth, aka Kate, Diede Steinle.

Mettlen and his wife, Bev and Dell D. A. Mettlen and his wife, Becky; one daughter, Deanna J. Mettlen; her brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Mary Lou Steinle; four grandchildren: Justin, Lisa, Dell, Jr. and Jennifer.

Я надеюсь, что мы с тобой родственники. И не только по линии Штейнле, а так же по Гербель. За иди в фотоархив, в семейные фота, там в личном архиве В. Майера есть две статьи "Армия смерти" и "Наследство прадеда". Я думаю, они будут тебе очень интересны. Твоя прабабушка Штейнле(дев. Майер,1887г.р.) Амалия Андреевна родная сестра моего деда Майер Георга Андреевича. На семейной фотографии, моего прадеда Майер Андрея Давидовича(1852г.р.) есть и твоя прабабушка. Есть и фотография Гербель Давида, снятая в период спецпоселения в Синем Шихане Чкаловской обл. В моем семейном фотоальбоме, после переезда в Германию, чудом сохранились и другие старинные фотографии, в том числе и фото твоей бабушки Штейнле Лидии Андреевны. Пиши мне в л.с., буду рад поделиться информацией.

Насчет поисков в Америке....никого там не ищу,изначально интересовали все родственники по линии Штейнле,по линии Гербель

А вы знаете,что Lundgren- это типичная шведская фамилия? Возможно ваши далёкие предки приехали из Швеции или Финляндии.
Фамилия состоит из двух слов: Lund+gren.
Lund- означает роща, gren-означает ветка.
В общем как " веточка из рощи"

Да, мне известно, что Дрейшпиц основан не только переселенцами из Германии, а также из Швеции и Швейцарии. И что в колонии жили поляки, французы. Видимо с этим и связано, то что у жителей Дрейшпица был особый диалект.
Но то что означает фамилия Lundgren, для меня ново. Спасибо!
А Вас, что то связывает с Дрейшпиц?
